What is your WHY!?

Great leaders are those who trust their gut.
They are those who understand the art before the science.
They win hearts before minds.
They are the ones who start with WHY.
Simon Sinek

No matter how much the technology has evolved, I still love the actual books. I just love it. It feels more personal and valuable by somehow. I finally started reading Simon Sinek's "Start with WHY" recently. It's amazing how he puts it. Do you know what your "WHY" is?

Of course it has to be a synchronicity, I've been actually thinking about my "WHY" recently. What is it that I want to do?! How can I improve my life?! You see, I wasn't thinking about my "WHY". Event though this book was primarily based on business subjects, this applies in every aspect of life. We all have something we want, or passionate in our lives. And we love doing whatever that is, because that makes us happy. Because we like doing it. So WHY is it?! "This is not opinion. This is Biology". I love this particular title of this chapter. Because it is. It something we don't even know how to describe. It is our biology.

It's easy when you are small. Your reasons of doing things, or trying to get better was "because it was fun", "Because it makes my mom smile and she gave me a compliment", "because all my friends were doing it".... something like that. But what is your WHY now?! Why do you work in that company? Why do you started what you're doing? Why do you want to do what you want to do? It might be difficult to actually give an answer. Or it can be just because I needed a job, as simple as that. But when you're actually pursuing what you're passionate about, can you answer your WHY?

I have not find my WHAT, HOW, or WHY. And I feel like my why is because "I LOVE PEOPLE". I've written so many times that how beautiful everyone is, or how we all have a purpose in our lives and how amazing you are, and all that. Because everyone is different in such a unique way and you might not like whatever it is that about you, but to someone else, that's the exact thing that makes you unique and interesting and amazing about you. Everyone is different for that specific reason, and for that specific purpose. It might even not be about you. You might be there to help someone else. After all, we are all part of this huge, unknown Universe. You might not be what you want to be or, how you want to be but that doesn't matter. Always remember there are millions of people who will die to trade that place with you. You just need to accept, embrace and love who you are. And to be better you every single moment of your life. Trust your gut. Follow your heart. And that's makes you who you are. Your path may take you to somewhere you've never imagined. Your path may change along the way. You might lose your path. But this life is a journey. Think about your WHY. It might take you to a whole different place.

be your own best friend

Everybody has some "OFF" days every once in a while. Even though you have whole lot intention of being positive and kind and all that, yet it just doesn't get you anywhere. It's tough and it's not fun. No matter how much you try to be positive and shake off that weird feeling, it's just not working. On top of that everything seems like falling on top of you and collapsing. And just when you thought that the day can't get any worse, BOOM! it turns out that you were wrong. You finally give in and decide that you're gonna take it easy and not force anything that day. But you start feeling guilty for not trying hard enough.

Taking it easy and having that "ME" day is very important. You have to be kind to yourself. It's different from being lazy. You have to know how to take care of yourself, both mentally and physically. You have to know that you can't do everything by yourself. You have to realize that you don't have to solve everything on your own. You have to know that sharing your feelings or problem is not the sign of weakness, rather it shows your courage. Because you are breaking the wall and opening up yourself to the Universe. When you just pile up everything and close the top, eventually it's going to explode. It's only natural. You have to let go of those negative things out of you. Breathe, meditate, sing, bake, take a walk, read a book, watch funny movie, lay on the grass, go to the beach, take a nap... do whatever it is that brings you some type of peace, joy and love in you. Relax.

Don't get caught up in the goal, or material things or whatever that is you are doing. If you feel little bit off, you need to stop and realign yourself. There are so many things going on in everybody't life. You have been working too much. You've been going through some relationship struggle. You're having some issue with your family. You're in some financial crisis. You've been kinda lost in the whole thing... anything! Life happens. But it happens FOR you, not TO you. And if you don't take care of yourself enough, there's a great chance that you might not gonna find your way out. And finding the balance when you're off balance is so difficult. It might make things worse. First you have to know how to find your balance, and know the feeling when you're in the place of love, joy and peace.

Love yourself, embrace yourself for who you are and what you are. You are beautiful and worth so much more than you think. When you need to take that day off, and spend "ME" time from all the chaos, do that. be your own best friend. Be your best supporter.

passion/purpose

“We’re the creators of our own experience — remembering this, and living our lives from this perspective, empowers us.”

~Mike Robbins

What is your passion and what s your purpose?! I believe that people have things that they are passionate about. Some people might have more than one thing and it's all good. somebody told me once that those who say have so many things that they are passionate about, they really don't know what their true calling is. Is that true?! Do you know your purpose?!

I had a very interesting conversation the other day about this topic. It's funny how this thought hasn't occurred to me till that day. He said "Anyone can be passionate about anything. And you know your purpose when you are so passionate about that one thing and you want to teach and share that with everybody. Now, that's your purpose". It was very inspiring and I love that perspective. it's been said that your passion will become your purpose. Bishop T.D. Jakes says

"If you can't figure out your purpose, figure our your passion. For your passion will lead you right into purpose"

Some people are lucky enough to know their path. Some people struggle to find the way. Sometimes things might change and you might lose your way. Keep asking yourself questions, We all have purpose whether you know it now or not, we all do have the one things that we're meant to fulfill. So, keep your eyes open, keep your heart open to the possibilities that the Universe is offering you.

Train your mentality till it becomes second nature

It is incredible how we are capable of changing things in our lives in so many aspects. It's way beyond our comprehension. It might not be easy to get it, but everything happens FOR us, not TO us. It's just amazing. Whether we like it or not, that' the fact. Everything happens FOR us. For our own benefit. How we take it, that's the difference.

You see, whatever it is or it maybe, if it was meant to happen, it will happen whether you like it or not. What you are in charge of is how you react to it. It's easy to take things for granted, even the things you earned it with so much effort. We always have to remind ourselves how fortunate we are to have things that other people won't get to have. Everything happens for reasons. Even when you think that the whole world is against you, still, there are so many people who would die to trade place with you. I'm gonna be honest. I've had amazing life so far, thanks to my wonderful parents. They took great care of me and gave me so much knowledge and opportunities that I wouldn't have otherwise. Also they taught me how to be brave and embrace who I am. And I cannot be more grateful to have them as my parents. Yet, I still have to constantly remind myself how fortunate and blessed I am to have what I've given at this point in my life. And whatever it is that I have right now, that's all given to me by this great Universe. Unfortunately I often forget that and start thinking "Why is this life so tough?!" "Why is this happening to me?!" "Why isn't my life/career going anywhere!?" "Why does everything happen to that person and not me?!" "Why is it that everybody else has so much more opportunities?!" and the list goes on and on when all I have to do is to focus on being better myself, preparing for any opportunities that might come along, and being grateful for the great future that I'm about to have.

It's all about mentality. And it is exactly like a muscle memory. We have to train ourselves to have certain mentality till that becomes second nature. All the workshops and seminars that I've been to, at the end of the day, they all say the same thing. "Be true to who you are and embrace that". Seriously, they all say that. No matter it is that we want to do or pursue, we have to be true to your heart first. That' the bottom line. As long as you're trying to be someone else, comparing yourself to someone else, or trying to please other people, you are not going anywhere.

1)Be who you are and love who you are
2)Start listening to your inner voice/instincts
3)Stop trying to be who you "want" to be or who you "think you should"be.

We cannot change how other people think or feel. All we can change is how we think or feel. We are all in charge of our life. Be better than who you were yesterday. Be more free than who you were yesterday. Life is meant to  be happy and fun. And that happens when you are truly present in the moment. Without any doubts or ego, truly be in that moment. I mean, when was the last time you were truly present in any situation!? When was the last time you just let go and let yourself feel whatever it is that you are feeling?! When was the last time you had fun!? When was the last time when you were truly grateful for what you have? And we need to start doing that. You don't have to compare yourself to anything or anyone for that matters. It might not be the way you want it to be, but everything will work out. You might not be where you want or have what you want, but you are not where you could have been. Things might been much worse than it is. Please don't forget to remind yourself how blessed you are in the middle of that situation.

We are all meant to be better. Be prepared for any situation. Be ready for any opportunities and seize it. Be grateful for anything that you are facing. Life is beautiful when you decide to see it that way. Love is the source of all energy. Let's start from the place of love, not of EGO. Live like today is the last day.

Live like there's no tomorrow

You never know what will happen to your life. You might feel like you have everything under control. Or you might want to have everything under control. But the truth is that you are not. We cannot prevent earthquakes or Tsunami, getting hit by a car or anything for that matter. You have to let go of the idea that you are in control of your life. You ARE in control of your action, yes. but not the life itself.

When was the last time you DANCEd like nobody's watching?!
When was the last time you LOVEd anything like you've never been hurt?!
When was the last time you SANG like there's nobody listening?!
When was the last time you Worked like you don't need the money?!
When was the last time you LIVED like it is heaven on EARTH!?

Do you remember them!?

This life is too short not to enjoy. It's too precious not to embrace. It's too amazing not to celebrate.

Someone passed away few days ago. I didn't know this person. But this caused so much pain in a lot of people. It was unbearable to see them that way. You talked to him, walked with him, laughed with him, and out of nowhere, he just disappeared from your life forever, without saying good by or any explanation or even warning. Just happened. Imagine that. Every life has its end. We are the ones that making things more complicated than it should be. Life is very simple. We're all meant to be happy. That is it. It's that simple. That's what everybody want. Happiness. So how can you have that happiness?!

You choose to be happy. Nobody or nothing can give you that happiness. You have to decide to have that happiness with you no matter what. It's a commitment. It's an effort. It's a work. But at the end of the day, we all want to be happy. Not the large sum of money. Not the fame. Not the social status. Those are only the things you THINK will bring happiness.

Love and Live every moment of your life. Cherish, and embrace your life. Choose to be happy no matter what.

you alone are good enough

Sure, it's easier said than done, right?! I get it. And it feels like everyone is saying the same thing everywhere!

Be yourself!
Be who you are and embrace who you are!
Be the best you can be!

But what if you don't think you are not good enough for something!? or anything!!! THAT'S A LIE!!!! LIE, LIE, LIE!!!!

they might be good at something you are not. Then, you are good at something they are not. We are all made differently. ON PURPOSE!!! Imagine, if we were all made the same?! then what's the point of having dream or living life?! How boring that life would be! Everywhere you look, you see the same thing. Everything you hear would be the same. Everything you experience would be same. Do you want that kind of life?!

The grass is always greener on the other side. But if you water your grass and take care of it well, your grass will be even greener than theirs.

I felt like I was getting better at whole "ACCEPTING and EMBRACING who I am" thing. I really thought I was finally on the right track to get to the next level. Boy, was I wrong. It hit me really bad. Everyone else was getting their break! My friends were getting gigs after gigs. They are going somewhere with their career. And I looked at myself and said, "WHAT ABOUT ME?!". Here it goes the EGO again. And the feeling pushed me even more to the edge. It made me feel like I am not good enough for anything at all. Who am I!? What am I doing?! Why am I even here?! The more I asked, the worse I felt. Because I didn't know the answer to it. I thought I knew. But all those seemed be false answers.

“The Ego, however, is not who you really are. The ego is your self-image; it is your social mask; it is the role you are playing. Your social mask thrives on approval. It wants control, and it is sustained by power, because it lives in fear.”--Deepak Chopra

He explains perfectly! Ego is not who I really am. It comes out from the place of fear and the desire to control everything. Meaning, Ego comes out when we are not living in the moment, but in the IDEA of what we want our life to be. When we live in the moment, truly, we don't have time to create or acknowledge EGO. Because every moment in our life is gift and we'll be too busy embracing that every single moment. To be in the moment and let it go and not think about how we judge ourselves or how other people judge us are the only way to get those EGO out of your life. Everything that happens in our life are what we attract. It's true. Whatever energy we send out, it will come back to us. It's just a simple physics. So, love yourself and live your life the fullest. Stop limiting yourself from what your heart tells you. Stop comparing yourself to others. Start living life that you are meant to live. We often find something to be excuse not to do it, often "TIME" or "Financial Resources" are the reason. But, what if those aren't the obstacles?! what if you don't have to worry about any of that?! THEN how do you want your life to be?! How would you live your life?! What's your ideal life?! Close your eyes and imagine yourself living that your ideal life! That's how your life will be and, guess what?! it'll be even better if you completely commit yourself to life. Not taking responsibility in your own life is the worst thing. We are not in control of the outcome, but we're in our actions and intentions. This is the second best time to start living your life. Your time is NOW!

Thrive

\

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style”

To thrive is to grow or develop well or vigorously. Arianna Huffngton is one of the most successful and influential women nowadays. It is amazing to hear even she had to redefine what success is in her own way. You see, we only know her cover story not the entire stories.

We are meant to grow and be better, not compare to others, but to yourself. We don't have to compare and define the meaning of success based on what people see or might think. It's all irrelevant. We all grow up in different circumstances and experience different things. Your idea of success might not be someone else's idea of success. We live in the age that our success/achievement can be perceived as equivalent of your material possession. Higher bank account=Happier the person?! no! plenty of rich people are not happy. Higher social status=Happier person? no, so many "Famous" people are not happy. (if you think, this isn't true, ask all the "Celebrities" who've been to rehab). It's time for us to redefine what success is.

Everyone's success is different. What's your idea of success? What do you want in your life?! Do you do things just to impress other people?! Do you show off certain things to others so that you might be able to feel more successful? What is it that you truly want in your life?! What it is that makes you truly happy? What is it that you can offer to the Universe?! A lot of us might not even know the answer. We might pretend to know the answer. You can't keep living in the facade and drawn in to it. Start asking yourself questions more often. What are you really feeling?! What do you really want to do?! What is your definition of success and happiness?! After all, we all want to be happy and successful. Are you still in the "I'll be happy WHEN.... "syndrome?! Are you trying to posses all the materialistic things to prove others something?!  We don't have to do anything to prove other people anything. You don't have to do what other people might think is the right thing. Right now, what I'm saying might not make any sense at all. But that's ok too. We all have to figure out our path eventually. So, let's THRIVE. not merely survive.  It doesn't have to be the same all the time. We can change our mind about certain things any moment. That's the beauty of it. We grow more and more every moment. We THRIVE to be better. Thrive.

Love,
